The inventory is a record of Israel's intangible cultural heritage and the cultural practices associated with its communities. The inventory helps us better understand the communities of Israel and identify specific cultural resources within communities. Intangible cultural heritage includes the performing arts, oral traditions, social practices, religious traditions, knowledge and practices concerning nature and the universe, and craftsmanship and its history. Through the documentation of Intangible Cultural Heritage, we can identify various cultural elements and compile a comprehensive inventory of intangible cultural heritage elements. This includes exploring traditional craftsmanship and its history, which helps to better understand social practices, rituals, festive events, and traditional knowledge of nature. The cultural inventory is a starting point for cultural planning. This inventory process helps us better understand communities and cultural resources. Developing the cultural inventory can be a community tool,  a way to get to know community members, to identify their special skills and talents,  and to bring them into closer connection with programs and services, in the heart of the community.
